Connecting Technologies Across the Research Workflow
Cheryl C. Tan, Ph.D.
Field Application Scientist, Genomics at Agilent
This presentation highlights the benefits of a targeted approach to transcriptome profiling and introduces the Somatic Transcriptome Panel and its integrated bioinformatics solution, developed in collaboration with Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. We will explore how capture-based RNA sequencing, Magnis automation, and a comprehensive analysis and reporting platform work together to deliver a streamlined, end-to-end sample-to-report workflow.
About the speaker
Cheryl Tan is a Genomics Field Applications Scientist at Agilent with a PhD in Biological Sciences and MB(ASCP) certification. Before joining Agilent, she spent several years working as an applications scientist supporting advanced molecular profiling platforms in fields such as cancer and immuno-oncology.
Matt Wang,
Sr. Product Manager at Agilent
The Magnis NGS Prep System is a closed system that fully automates NGS Library Preparation and Target Enrichment with Agilent SureSelect Reagents
About the speaker
Matt Wang is a Senior Product Manager for the Magnis NGS Prep System, where he leads product strategy for system architecture, workflow integration, and global commercial deployment. Matt brings hands-on experience in FDA medical device compliance, clinical LDT verification and validation, and LIMS integration and cybersecurity requirements.
Danielle Fletcher,
Field Application Scientist,Bioinformatics at Agilent
Comprehensive genomic profiling often requires flexibility to address specific research needs and areas of interest. This presentation will introduce Agilent SureSelect Cancer CGP panels, before exploring how SureDesign can be used to create customised SureSelect panels. Through a live demonstration, we will walk through the process of translating targets of interest into a tailored panel design, highlighting key considerations along the way.
About the speaker
Danielle Fletcher is a Field Application Scientist at Agilent Technologies, supporting customers with NGS and genomic applications. A key part of her role is helping customers design and customize Agilent solutions for their specific genomic applications and workflows.
Charles W. Amirmansour, Ph. D.
Global Commercial Competency Lead at Agilent
Cancer cells are not static. They continually adapt their metabolism, morphology, interactions with the surrounding microenvironment and responses to therapeutic pressure. Understanding these behaviours requires more than a single measurement or analytical perspective.
In this presentation, Dr Charles William Amirmansour will explore how complementary cell-analysis approaches can help researchers move from complex biological observations towards more actionable insight. The session will examine how real-time metabolic analysis, live-cell imaging, microplate-based detection and flow cytometry can provide different but connected views of cancer cell function, treatment response and cell-to-cell variability.
Rather than focusing on any one technology in isolation, the presentation will highlight the value of combining orthogonal measurements to build a more complete understanding of cancer biology. Attendees will see how integrated functional insights can help reveal changes that might otherwise be missed, strengthen confidence in experimental interpretation and support the development of more biologically relevant cancer-research workflows.
About the speaker
Dr. Amirmansour leads Global Business Development in Agilent Technologies’ Cell and Biomolecular Analysis Division. Across 25 years in research, product strategy and commercial leadership, he has helped academic and biopharma laboratories achieve reproducible, data-driven results.
A trained pharmacologist, he earned a BSc (Hons) from King’s College London and a doctorate in Clinical Pharmacology from University College London, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at Imperial College London and the Harefield Heart Science Centre.
He now applies hisexpertise in microplate, imaging, liquid handling and high-content workflows through global seminars and masterclasses on assay design, automation and scientific storytelling.
