This webinar discusses how autophagy-dependent metabolic reprogramming may rescue the antiviral potency of anti-HIV-1 T-cells in subjects under antiretroviral therapy (ART). Although conventional ART manages to suppress HIV-1 infection’s progression, it does not restore a proper T-cell’s immunity. Here, we propose that autophagy is a pivotal key process to mount an effective T-cell responses and metabolic fitness by providing diverse carbon sources within a hostile environment during persistent HIV-1 infection.

Tune in to learn more about how:

  • Autophagy confers differential metabolic reprogramming in a T-cell subset-dependent manner.
  • Autophagy is regulated through IL-21 and AMPK signaling in T-cells, providing the proper mitochondrial bioenergetics requirement.
  • Autophagy is a valuable therapeutic tool to enhance T-cells antiviral immunity.
